Beer, BBQ, Cricket and Football

Head to the club house on Saturday 12th to catch the end of the 1st XI game and England v USA on a big screen.

There will be a BBQ fired up and much merriment and laughter. If you are keen to follow the crowd into town there will be a bus leaving the clubhouse at 10pm.

FANTASY CRICKET LEAGUE

Members of the cricket club have asked that we run a Fantasy League Cricket Competition for the 2010 season. If sufficient interest is shown the club will run the competition on similar lines to the highly successful 2005 Fantasy League.

The cost will be £10 in total for each person participating in the competition.

Prize money to be as follows:

50% of total amount collected will go to club funds.

Manager of the calendar month £10 (If more than one manager have the same points, the winner to be decided by the higher points scorer the following week)

2/3 of the remaining money will go to the season’s top points scoring manager.

1/3 of the remaining money will go to the season’s runner up points scoring manager.

Please remember this is only a bit of fun and not to be taken too seriously (Some hope)

The competition will cover all weekend matches

Each person participating will have a total of £40,000,000 to spend on five batsmen,

four bowlers, one all-rounder and a wicket-keeper shown in the respective category.

I hope a wide selection of players will be chosen and not see people picking the same players.

A word of advice – 2nd X1 players may play North Somerset games on a Sunday

1st X1 players are able to play in friendly matches under John Skinner’s captaincy

Each player will have a value placed against his name. This will relate not only to expected performance, but also anticipated appearances. Remember the value casts no reflection solely

on a player’s ability. The value takes into account other variables during the season.

It is only the means that will enable people to arrive at a value within the £40,000,000 budget.

You may replace up to two players (in writing) at £2 each until the end of June

FOR PREVIOUS HISTORY OF PLAYERS LOOK AT THE WEBSITE - HOW MANY GAMES ARE THEY LIKELY TO PLAY, 2009 STATISTICS AND PROSPECTIVE PERFORMANCE FOR THE COMING SEASON

In the event of long term absence through injury or non-availability, up to two replacements can be added at a cost of £2 each but the total must be kept under the 55 point ceiling

Points gained by the replacement will only count from the date selected. Points will be counted in the managers total if scored by the original player prior to his deselection
